Two girls were hospitalised with concussion after they were hit by a car on Thursday on a street in Chisinau. According to Road Traffic Safety Service Inspector Ion Roscovanu, at 9.00 hrs, on Muncesti Street, an 11-year-old girl, pupil of the Choreographic Lyceum, and an 8-year-old pupil of the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” Lyceum, were struck by a speeding Volkswagen car, driven by a young man, 21. At 5.00 hrs, at the crossroad between Sarmizegetuza and Minsk st., a drunk driver, 21, operating an Alfa-Romeo, missed a curve and violently ran into the kerb. As a result, he got a head trauma, a concussion, fracture of the nasal bones and close-type abdomen trauma. The passenger, aged 21, got a forehead bruise. 10 persons were traumatised as a result of the 8 road accidents that occurred on Thursday. The road officers fined 402 drives, including 86 for speeding and 13 for drunk driving.
