Two minors remained alive after they maneuvered two hand grenades. The two found the grenades in the Tiganca forest located near Trebujeni village of Orhei district on July 19. They took them to the local forester, Info-Prim Neo reports. The grenades that remained in the ground since the Second World War could explode at any moment, the Bomb Squad of the National Army says in a communiqué. The Soviet-made F-1 grenades posed an increased danger to life as both of them had fuses on them, while one of them did not have the pin. “The grenades were rusty and in a bad state as they have been in the ground for over 60 years,” said commander of the Codru battalion, lieutenant colonel Mihail Semionov. The sappers destroyed the grenades in a clay quarry situated not far from Trebujeni. According to the Bomb Squad of the National Army, the combat engineers this year have demined about 800 explosive devices in different settlements of Moldova.
