Two men aged 26 and, respectively, 37 were charged with deliberate murder, robbery, illegal carrying and keeping of guns and munitions and distribution of drugs, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office.
According to the communiqué, the culprits on April 2, 2011 robbed a family of a farmer from Larga village of Briceni district, about whom they knew he may have a large sum of money in the house.
At that moment, there was only the man’s wife at home. The two men tied the woman and, threatening her with a knife, demanded that she give them money. Meanwhile, the woman’s husband returned home and tried to stop the criminals. He was also tied and then beaten to death. The robbers took all the money they found in the house – about 135,000 lei.
The two offenders, who have a criminal record, were arrested ten days later. The third accomplice was announced wanted.
Upon a search, the police found drugs for personal use in the culprits’ home. The prosecutors possess information that they illegally obtained a Kalashnikov gun and 15 cartridges that they intended to use in their crimes.
The legal case was sent to the Briceni Court for examination.
