Two men drowned

Two men, aged 38 and around 50, died by drowning. The first case happened in the “Valea Morilor” Park in Chisinau and the second one in Brejeni village, Sangerei district.

Adrian Jovmir, head of the Chisinau Police press service, told IPN that lake maintenance workers found a man's body in the “Valea Morilor” lake on Wednesday morning, August 13. The body was recovered, but the identity of the victim is yet to be established. The mas was between 40 and 50 years of age, had brown hair, average weight. No signs of a violent death have been found.

Investigator of the Sangerei Police Inspectorate Dorin Petrov told IPN that the man who drowned in the Berejeni village lake was a shepherd at the local sheephold. He was from Sangerei town and had no wife or children. The investigation found that the victim had drunk before getting in water. According to the Civil Protection and Emergency Service, the underwater search for the body continued until late night and the body was found this morning, on August 14.

Since the beginning of the the summer season in May, 32 people died bathing, including 12 minors.
