A 55 year old man from Delacau village, Anenii Noi district, went to bathe in the Nistru River, but didn't return. The rescuers tried to recover the body yesterday, August 14, but to no avail. The efforts were resumed this morning.
Dumitru Rudnitchi, chief of the police post in Delacau, told IPN that the man went to the Nistru, where his wife and other village women were washing carpets. Being drunk, he got into water to bathe and never got out. He had two children, aged 29 and 31.
Another man, aged about 40-50, was found drowned near the Village Museum Park on the Aeroportului Street. Adrian Jovmir, press officer of the Chisinau Police Division, says that the victim's identity is yet to be established. The man was only in briefs and no clothes or papers were found on the shore.
