From September, kindergartens no.3 and no.18 in Chisinau’s Buiucani sector will reopen after extensive rehabilitation of the buildings and playgrounds. They also received new furniture and end equipment.
The Chisinau City Hall states that after more than 20 years of inactivity, it was decided to reopen the facilities amid a rising number of applications for public kindergarten services.
During 2021-2022, over 25 million lei was allocated from the municipal budget for the rehabilitation of the two kindergartens, which have a total capacity of 240 places.
According to Mayor Ion Ceban, providing enough places for children in kindergartens is a priority. “We have a lot of requests from parents regarding the enrollment of children in kindergartens, that is why we do everything that we can, within our current possibilities, to rehabilitate and reopen as many educational institutions as possible”, said the mayor.
