Two persons, one of whom a minor, died in road accidents caused by speeding on the weekend. Paulina Yakimovski, senior PR specialist at the Traffic Police Division, has told Info-Prim Neo that one of the fatal accidents happened in Calmatui, Hancesti. A 12-year-old boy who was crossing the street was struck mortally by a motorcycle driven by a man aged 27. One man was killed and three persons injured in an accident that occurred on the Chisinau-Dubasari road, near Zaicani village. A BMW driven by a Chisinau resident aged 42 made a U-turn and collided head-on with a Volkswagen Golf. The 32-year-old driver of the Volkswagen died on the spot, while the driver and two occupants of the BMW sustained multiple injuries. Ten persons were hurt when the minibus in which they were traveling overturned on the Ciadar-Lunga – Taraclia road. The speeding Mercedes-601 hit another Mercedes minibus and then skidded and overturned. Two minors riding a bicycle were struck by a Mercedes car at the intersection Dosoftei and Columna streets in Chisinau. The boys aged 7 and 14 were taken to Valentin Ignatenco Hospital with minor injuries. Two persons were killed and 36 injured in 18 traffic accidents over the weekend.
