Two persons died in a house fire in the town of Cimislia on Tuesday. Liliana Puscasu of the Fire & Rescue Dept. has told Info-Prim Neo that the fire broke out at around 19:30 in a home on Petru Rares Street. Although a fire crew responded promptly, the blaze managed to carbonize the bodies of the owner and her domestic partner, both aged 39. Preliminary investigations indicated a gas leak as the cause. It is not yet known why the victims didn't flee the blazing room, although it is supposed that they could have. Thanks to the prompt reaction of the fire fighters it was managed to save the house and content estimated at 200,000 lei. Over the past 24 hours, 9 fires erupted across Moldova, claiming two lives and raising this year's fire toll to 96.
