Two persons involved in a car accident could have avoided injuries if they had their seatbelts on. The accident occurred Tuesday, at 5:30pm, in an intersection in Chisinau. A man, 50, driving a Mercedes truck, ignored the priority sign and struck a Toyota Carina car. The driver of the car suffered a head trauma and the front passenger got facial injuries. They were admitted to the Emergency Hospital. Chisinau Road Police inspector Ion Roscovan told Info-Prim Neo that “although they are not directly responsible for the accident, the driver and passenger of Toyota are to blame for not respecting the safety rules”. Over the past 24 hours, 17 drivers in Chisinau got seatbelts tickets.
