Two homeless men taken to hospital with hypothermia

Two homeless men were admitted to the Chisinau Emergency Hospital with hypothermia. According to the hospital’s managing doctor Evelina Rusu, one of them was discovered naked, Info-Prim Neo reports.
A 76-year-old man was taken from near the Triumphal Arch situated in the Great National Assembly Square. The second man, aged 37, was found by policemen under a bridge on Calea Orheiului St in Chisinau. He was lying naked.
Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Constantin Rudenko, of the Placement Center for the Homeless, said that by 8-10 persons have come to the Center every evening since it grew colder. The Center has 15 beds. When the persons are accommodated, employees of the Center check if they are wanted by the police or not.
The homeless persons at the Center can drink tea and have breakfast in the morning. The Chisinau City Hall and a church situated nearby bring footwear and clothes to the Center.
