Two girls, one of whom younger than 18, were raped in an apartment in central Chisinau on the night of May 5. One of them managed to run away and to inform the police. The 16-year-old girl was thrown out of the seventh floor and is in a coma. The police arrested four suspects and are searching for another two individuals. The suspects are aged between 20 and 26, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, one of the suspects was under house arrest. Two months ago he committed a robbery. He was initially held on remand, but the judges of the Chisinau City Court later released him from remand detention and placed him under house arrest. The prosecutors challenged the judges’ decision and announced they will ask for arrest warrants for all the six individuals.
The Prosecutor’s Office and the police ask anyone with any information about the whereabouts of the other two suspects to inform the nearest police station or to call on (022) 27-22-57 or 0-799-52-423.
The individuals face at most 20 years in jail.
