Two former Communist councilors create group of Socialists on CMC

Two councilors who left the Communist faction on the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) announced they decided to set up the group of Socialists. Elena Danu and Petru Dontsov informed about their decision in a news conference on January 30, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Socialists pledged to unlock the administrative crisis in the Chisinau Council.
According to the leader of the Party of Socialists of Moldova Igor Dodon, the group of Socialists will contribute to the adoption of important decisions for the municipality of Chisinau. They will negotiate will all the factions on the CMC, but will be in constructive opposition to the administration of the City Hall. The Socialists will criticize the incompetence of Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca and will reveal the serious wrongdoings and mistakes made by the municipal administration.
Igor Dodon also said that the Socialists will claim no posts in the Chisinau City Hall.
The Communist faction now has 24 members, while the parties of the Alliance for European Integration – 25 councilors.
