Two of the over 50 drugstores inspected by the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime were fined up to 2,000 lei because they did not obey the new rules concerning the setting of drug prices, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Center.
The given drugstores are SRL “Biooptima” situated on N. Testemitanu St and SRL Iriofarm located on Vasile Lupu St in Chisinau.
According to the Center, most of the pharmaceutical companies in Chisinau have reassessed the drugs and set new prices. The situation in districts is worse.
Since January 17, the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime has carried out inspections at 46 drugstores in Chisinau and six pharmacies in southern Moldova. Similar inspections are performed in the north of the country.
The Center's employees check how the drugstores adjusted the drug prices to those included in the National Catalog of Prices. The profit margin must not exceed 40%.
