Two dikes collapsed under high water pressures, exposing settlements in the districts of Anenii-Noi and Stefan-Voda to the risk of being flooded. Liliana Puscasu of the Civil Protection Service has told Info-Prim Neo that the water levels on the Prut are still critically high, which caused the dike near the villages of Purcari and Olanesti, Stefan-Voda, to give way. There were flooded 15 homes in Purcari, one of which collapsed. Some 675 villagers have been evacuated to prevent casualties. The second dike gave in near the village of Cioburciu, leaving hectares of pasture land under water. The dike near Serpeni village is also said to be critical, with a corn field already flooded and 15 homes at risk. Criuleni settlements are seeing waters retreat, as homes are being repopulated. Road links in the zone are being restored.
