The Moldovan National Youth Council is organizing for the third consecutive year a Youth Festival, to be held this year on August 12, on the pedestrian street Eugen Doga in Chisinau, starting 2:00PM.
Igor Ciurea, the Council’s general secretary, said the novelty of this year’s Festival is in that it will feature 20 young artisans who will showcase their hand-made objects.
The event will have contests and raffles and the featured artisans will give out the prizes.
The Festival will officially start at 2:00PM. Between 3:00PM and 6:00PM, a fair of youth organizations will be held to showcase their activities and inform the public about volunteering opportunities. Also, international volunteers working in Moldova will talk about their countries and about what made them come to Moldova.
In parallel with the youth organizations’ fair, a job fair will take place where 25 companies will present their career opportunities.
Beginning with 3:00PM, both the pedestrian street and the Municipal Library B.P. Hasdeu will host a series of discussion panels and workshops. The main panel will be dedicated to the International Youth Day, whose theme this year is building peace.
The workshops will be dedicated to issues like Erasmus+ opportunities for the Moldovan youth, fight against trafficking in humans, online security and other. Some workshops will be moderated by international volunteers.
Between 6:00PM and 10:00PM, a concert will take place featuring the bands Breaking Records, BeatBeat and The Wax Road and culminating with a DJ gig.
About 2,000 young people are expected to attend this year’s Youth Festival. The event’s detailed agenda is available on the National Youth Council’s official FB page.
