Two doctors from Chisinau will be tried for the death of a 21-year-old woman. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the two are accused of professional negligence and violation of the rules of providing medical assistance that resulted in death.

The incident happened in February 2009. The young woman felt sick and called an ambulance. The prosecutor of Rascani district Igor Popa said the ambulance doctor, after superficially examining her, diagnosed her incorrectly and didn’t transport her to the hospital for examinations.

The second doctor is the family doctor, who was called the same day after the young woman’s state worsened. He also examined her superficially, as the prosecutors assert, and prescribed her an incorrect treatment, basing on the diagnosis of the ambulance doctor. As a result, the young woman died

The two face up to three years in jail.
