Two children drowned in May while swimming. The two girls aged 11 and 12 drowned in the lakes locates in Orhei and Ialoveni, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the Emergency Situations Department, the first case occurred on May 11, at the lake of Orhei city, the second – on May 15, at a private pond located on the territory of a company in Ialoveni town.
To avoid such tragedies, the rescuers advise people to swim only in secure places, to avoid swimming near enclosures, bridges, or around whirlpools. It is absolutely prohibited to swim after a long exposure to sunrays, after a meal, or if exhausted. At the same time, parents should supervise children who are swimming and not allow them to stay for a long period in the cold water or swim during a storm.
