Two children and a man died of carbon monoxide positioning in fires that broke out inside their homes.
According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, a fire in a house in Iargara town of Leova village took the lives of two children aged three and, respectively, five.
The fire destroyed objects inside one room. The bodies of the children were found in a neighboring room after the fire was put out. It was established that the fire was caused by electrical equipment that was improperly installed.
A man aged 61 was killed in a fire in a house in Causeni town, which was allegedly caused by a lit cigarette.
The 2,035 fires that happened in Moldova this year ended in 142 deaths. Six of the victims were children, while 75 victims died in fires as a result of reckless smoking.
