Two buses parked at a lot on Uzinelor St in Bacioi commune of Chisinau municipality burned last night. Firefighters managed to prevent the spreading of fire to another three buses.
The 901 service was alerted at about 2:00a. Three firefighting teams travelled to the scene. The flames fully engulfed two buses. The fire was localized close to 3:00am and was fully put out by 5:00am. No one was hurt.
Requested by IPN to provide details, press officer of the General Inspectorate for Emergencies Liliana Puscasu said the cause of fire hasn’t been yet found out and no preliminary versions have been formulated yet.
Press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Natalia Stati has told IPN that the police suspect arson and started a criminal case. The call to the police was made by the parking lot’s guard. The buses that burned were used to transport parcels and passengers to Italy.
