Two ambulances on duty needed the assistance of rescuers after they got stuck in snow on January 8. A number of drivers also called the rescuers to have their vehicles taken out of snow piles.
Contacted by IPN, press officer of the Civil Projection and Emergencies Service Liliana Puscasu said the ambulances were hurrying to reach the homes of the persons who needed medical care. One case happened in Chisinau, while the other one in Calarasi. “As some road sections were covered with snow, the ambulances got stuck. The rescuers removed the snow from the street and towed the vehicles away,” she stated.
Teams of rescuers also helped motorists whose vehicles became trapped in snow or skidded off the road in Straseni, Rezina, Chisinau and Calarasi. According to the Service, the rescuers provided assistance in over 50 cases all over Moldova since the snow fell. They towed vehicles away, gave first aid and extinguished fires.
