Last night was a stressful one for the dwellers of an apartment building located in Bălți town. A fire started in one of the apartments after midnight and all the dwellers were evacuated. A 70-year-old woman needed medical care after inhaling fumes, IPN reports.
The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations said that a call informing about the fire was made to the 112 Service close to 1pm. The flames engulfed the room of an apartment. Three rescue and firefighting teams were dispatched to the scene.
The rescuers took the old woman, who got poisoned by fumes, out of the burning apartment. She was rushed to the municipal hospital for being offered medical assistance.
The firefighters also evacuated the other 21 dwellers from the same stair of the building. The fire was put out close to 2pm. The cause of fire hasn’t been yet found out.
