About 50 persons of different ages and with different interests took part in the public lesson “Grammar class”. The youngest participant was over 70 and graduated from the Language Faculty in 1967. The organizers expected that more persons will take part and consider the chosen date was an unsuitable one.

“Some came to test their knowledge, while others came to learn something new and to recall the student years,” university teacher Alexandra Gherasim has told IPN.

The organizers said the idea of holding such a public lesson appeared as a result of the knowledge testing contests “Dictation for everyone” and “testing for everyone”. Participants in the previous editions suggested that public grammar lesson should be also given.

Those who took part in the “Grammar class” received two types of prizes – for those who were active during the lesson and for the highest score obtained in the test. Twelve persons got the highest score possible.

The “Grammar class” will also be staged in spring and in summer. The public lesson is an initiative of the Culture Division of the Chisinau City Hall and the Language Faculty of the State University of Moldova.
