Tvardita village of Taraclia district was transformed into a town. On March 28, the legislative body adopted a relevant bill in two readings, IPN reports.

Bill author, Liberal-Democratic MP Ivan Ionas said the transformation is justified from legal viewpoint.

Tvardita has over 6,000 residents. It is supplied with natural gas and 95% of the homes are connected to aqueduct, fixed-line telephone and Internet. About 40 companies work in the settlement.

Tvardita became thus Moldova’s 66th town.
