The Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) has warned publicly a number of TV channels for not obeying the Broadcasting Code’s provisions concerning own and national informative and analytical content, which should represent at least 80%, IPN reports.

Of the 16 monitored channels, only four – Noroc, N 4, Moldova 1 and ITV – fully ensure the required own and national content.

In the discussions on the report, the BCC members said the most serious situation is witnessed at Euro TV and Ren Moldova. At RTR Moldova, the programs on Saturdays and Sundays are fully broadcast in Russian, being retransmitted from the Russian Federation, and this enables noxious news to enter the Moldovan media space.

For deviations from the Broadcasting Code, the Council warned publicity Euro TV, Ren Moldova, RTR Moldova, Prime and TVC 21 and decided that these will be monitored again. The other TV channels that have a lower than required level of own and national content were warned to strictly obey the broadcasting legislation and will also be monitored again.
