The seven Turkish citizens who were declared undesirable and sent to Turkey weren’t extradited at the request of Turkey. These persons were declared undesirable and expelled in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Moldova, Prime Minister Pavel Filip stated in the talk show “Fourth power” on N4 channel, IPN reports.
The Premier said that in a meeting with his Turkish counterpart, he was requested that the Moldovan authorities should close the lyceum “Orizont”. “My answer was that the lyceum “Orizont” works in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Moldova. That’s why as long as this institution obeys the law, it will work and no one will tell us what we should do with this institution. And we kept our word,” stated the official.
According to Pavel Filip, the second time the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan himself made a similar request and this was again rejected. “These teachers weren’t extradited at the request of the Turkish authorities. These persons were declared undesirable and were removed, as the laws of the Republic of Moldova provide,” noted the Prime Minister.
As regards the privatization of the state-owned airline “Air Moldova”, the Premier said this was denationalized in accordance with the law after it was managed badly. “I, as the Prime Minister, obtained information about the company’s economic activity with difficulty. The then minister didn’t really want to cooperate and to provide information. At the same time, my colleagues told me things didn’t go well at the company. I was put in the situation to order a financial inspection to get figures and the figures didn’t gladden me at all,” he stated.
