A citizen of Turkey aged 48 will stand trial for sheltering three Turkish citizens while managing a hotel in Chisinau in 2017 and of helping them get false diplomatic passports, leave Moldova and transit Ukraine to the EU, IPN reports.
According to the Prospector General’s Office, the Turkish man is investigated for organizing illegal migration. The investigation was completed and the case was sent to court.
The three Turkish citizens, all aged 22, were stopped in Slovakia and arrested for travelling with false diplomatic passports.
The culprit faces at most five years behind bars.
