“Turandot” put on at National Opera House

The most grand opera of Giacomo Puccini “Turandot” will be performed at the National Opera House in Chisinau on December 18.
Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, coordinating editor of the National Opera House’s artistic impresario division Cristina Zara said the opera is based on an old Chinese legend.
The role of Princess Turandot will be played by soprano Natalia Margarit, who is a Master of Art. Tenor Vladimir Zaklikovski, people’s artist, will play the part of the Emperor of China, while tenor Nicolae Busuioc, who is also a people’s artist - the role of Calaf. The opera also involves soloists of the orchestra and choir of the National Opera House.
The scenery was painted by Veaceslav Ocunev, who works for the famous Russian theater “Mariinsky”. The decorations are in Chinese style. The spectators will be able to admire exceptional makeup and costumes typical of this culture, said Cristina Zara.
The performance starts at 8pm. Tickets cost between 30 and 180 lei.
