True reasons of Mishin's defection will reveal themselves later, says Voronin

Communist leader Vladimir Voronin claims that the reasons behind the recent departure of three MPs from the Communist Party are different from those announced and that the true reasons will reveal themselves later. “Last Saturday Mishin raised his hand in support of a report I presented, only to announce his infamous defection two days ago, just ahead of the Congress”, stated Vladimir Voronin at the Party's Seventh Congress on Saturday. Voronin noted that the trio had never before voiced discontent with the Communist mainstream. “The real reasons behind this disgraceful move will become known to us later. Meanwhile, let them come face to face with their conscience”. In his report on the party's four-year progress presented at the Congress, Voronin also recalled the departures of Marian Lupu, Victor Stepaniuc, Zinaida Greceanyi, Igor Dodon and others, condemning them. On June 7, MPs Vadim Mishin, Oleg Babenko and Tatiana Botnariuk announced they were leaving the Communists. Vadim Mishin told reporters he grew tired with the party's attitude of boycotting Parliament sessions, promising to reveal more next week. This last defection has left the Communist parliamentary group with 36 members.
