The trophy of the 15th International Documentary Film Festival Cronograf was won by a 2018 Iranian film titled “Women with gunpowder earrings”, by Reza Farahmand. The documentary was shown at the festival’s Closing Gala in the evening of May 28. The top prize of €2,500 was provided by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. The film also won the Public Sympathy Prize, IPN reports.
In the Local Productions section, the special mention was given to the film “Desire and Security” directed by Eugenia Crețu. The third prize went to Andrei Moraru’s film about the Nistru River “Dnestrovska”. The second prize was awarded to “Strolling through words” by Vera Belocrys. The top prize and the trophy went to the film “The Prut’s toltresses and stone quarries” by Victor Gălușcă.
The top prize and the trophy in cadRO was given to the documentary “Licu – a Romanian history” directed by Ana Dumitrescu, Romania. Norwegian director Stian Indervoll’s Moldovan miracle” won the top prize in the section “With the eyes on Moldova”.
The Special Jury Prize went to Anna Kryvenko’s film “My unknown soldier”. The image prize was awarded to Romanian director Nora Agapi’s documentary “Timebox”. The prize of the section “A like for a documentary” was given to “Antique store” directed by Mihai Nichiforeac, Moldova.
The mention in the main section of “Short Films” was won by Giulio Tonincelli’s “Happy today”. The prize for the best short documentary in the main section went to Belgian director Ingel Vaikla’s film “Roosenberg”.
On the last festival day of May 27, there was premiered the documentary “Goodbye, Olegovici!” directed by Eugeniu Popovici.
