The trolleybuses will not stop at stations situated near the Central Market of Chisinau on March 14. The decision was taken in a move to reduce the number of people who travel by one unit of transport and to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. The Central Market will not work in the period between March 16 and April 1, mayor Ion Ceban announced, calling on the people to avoid the area around the Central Market, IPN reports.
“I cannot force the businesses to stop work, but I bank on the civic responsibility of everyone as human lives are at stake. I ask you to stop work from today. I know it is hard, but such a move is necessary. I refer to shopping centers, gyms, recreation centers, cafes, bars, nightclubs etc. Only the grocery stores and drugstores should work in the municipality of Chisinau as from today,” the mayor said in a posting on Facebook.
