Trolleybuses will be blue with white

The 102 new trolleybuses that will be bought by the Chisinau administration in 2011 will be blue with white. The color was chosen as a result of the votes cast by the citizens on the local public authorities’ website, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Chisinau City Hall. The purchase of the 102 new trolleybuses was possible owing to the cooperation between the Chisinau City Hall, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank, and the European Union. The cost of the project is €13.7 million, including €0.7 million technical assistance. €5 million represents a loan from the EBRD, another €5 million – a loan from the EIB, while €3million was provided by the European Union as a grant The trolleybuses will be delivered by the Belarusian company Belkomunmash SA in four batches. The first 20 will be brought to Chisinau next February.
