Trolleybuses will be assembled in Chisinau under a Moldo-Belarussian partnership agreement signed Thursday, October 13, with the first unit to be presented in June 2012, Info-Prim Neo reports. The agreement has been concluded between the Belarussian company Belkommunmash, the Chisinau City Hall and the municipal Electric Transport Company (RTEC). Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca stated at the signing ceremony that at the beginning there would be assembled 30 trolleybuses, and in the process operations could be extended to repair and maintenance, with the possibility to set up new assembly lines in Balti and Tiraspol. The municipality will invest at the first stage of the project 4-5 million euros. Belkommunmash director Vladimir Korol announced that the Belarussian parts for assembly would be brought to Chisinau by the end of this year. RTEC head Gheorghe Morgoci said that the company had enough skilled and experienced personnel to be engaged in the operations. At first, RTEC intends to assemble two trolleybuses a month and then will increase the production rate. Gheorghe Morgoci also announced that the final installment of the 102 trolleybuses bought earlier from Belarus reached Chisinau today. They will be displayed in Chisinau's Great Assembly Square on Saturday as part of City Day celebrations.
