The inhabitants of Durlești town that forms part of Chisinau municipality can travel to the capital city by trolleybus route No. 35 as of February 4. Five battery-powered trolleybuses run on the route, IPN reports.
The new route “V. Alecsandri St – Durlești town” connects the central part of Chisinau and Durlești. The trolleybuses will run on this route at an interval of 16-17 minutes from each other. The route is 18.4 km long and is covered in 80 minutes.
Trolleybuses No. 35 will travel on the streets Vasile Alecsandri – Hâncești – Spicului – Ialoveni in Chisinau and on the streets N. Dimo – Cartușa – Alexandru cel Bun – Ștefan Vodă – Tudor Vladimirescu in Durlești. When back, they will run on the Chisinau streets Vasile Lupu – Constituției – Ion Creangă – V. Belinski – Vasile Lupu –C. Stere – A Shchusev – București – Vasile Alecsandri.
This year, the municipality plans to assemble 30 new battery-powered trolleybuses. A sum of 102 million lei was earmarked in the municipal budget for the purpose.
