Fewer trolleybuses and buses will run on the streets of the capital city in summer. As usual, the Chisinau Electric Transport Company and the Urban Bus Company in the period reduce the number of units of transport that run on routes. Trolleybus route No. 16 will not be available in summer, IPN reports.
In the June 3 meeting of officials of municipal services and divisions, Chisinau Electric Transport Company director Dorin Chernyi said 288 trolleybuses transport passengers in the municipality of Chisinau at present. The figure is by 8% lower than usually. As of June 17, the number of trolleybuses will be decreased to 266 following the typical decline in the number of passengers in the period.
Acting director of the Urban Bus Company Vitalie Copaci said the number of passengers travelling by buses in summer decreases by 20-25%. Therefore, the number of buses between June 3 and August 31 will be diminished and slightly over 100 units of transport will run on routes daily.
Vitalie Copaci also said that on Saturdays and Sundays in summer, the number of buses that run on route No. 31 to Vadu lui Vodă will be increased by one unit of transport.
