TRM will not object decision according to which CIJ and CIVIS won in the case started by the company

Company Teleradio-Moldova (TRM) will not object the decision of the Court of Economic Appeals, in the case started by it in which the Independent Journalism Centre (CIJ) and the Centre for Sociological Analysis and Investigations (CIVIS). A month ago, the court considered as winner CIJ and CIVIS in case where TRM supported that its honour, dignity and reputation were dishonoured by these institutions that have published a monitoring report of mass media in the electoral campaign for elections of the mayor of the municipality Chisinau. Sergiu Batog, general manager of the company, announced that it would not use the re-appeal. Previously the company was decided to attack the decision in superior court, he said, but recently gave up this idea. He did not explain the reasons. Olivia Partac, CIJ representative in court, noted that the decision of the court was correct and showed that the court took into consideration the provisions of the national legislation and the international legislation. In the report, where it was contested the trust of TRM, was mentioned that „Teleradio-Moldova showed tendencies to favour the candidate of the Communist Party against certain candidates, thus the Company limited the access of electors to information during the electoral campaign.”
