A trip by trolleybuses will be more expensive on the left side of the Nistru as of January 2019. If they choose a new-type trolleybus, the travelers will pay 2.8 rubles (almost 3 lei) for a trip, as opposed to 2.5 rubles now. A trip by an old-type trolleybus will cost 2.5 rubles (2.65 lei), as against 2 rubles at present, IPN reports.
The authorities argued the move follows the rise in the electric power tariffs. The fare for travelling by the Tiraspol-Bender route remains unchanged, of 3 rubles.
The local press reported that the electric transport departments in Tiraspol and Bender next year will be reformed. The salaries of employees are to be raised by about 15%. Currently, the drivers monthly earn by about 2,500-2,600 rubles, while the conductors by 2,000-2,200 rubles. It is also planned to set up a new trolleybus line.
