Nearly 40 square meters of tree waste collected after this April’s snowstorm and piled up on a plot on Decebal Street in Chisinau caught fire on Sunday. The exact cause is yet to be established, IPN learned from the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service.
Firefighters were called yesterday at around 10:30PM and two crews were deployed. They were able to promptly contain the fire and by 11:15PM it was extinguished altogether.
Similar fires caused by tree waste disposed of in the aftermath of the April storm broke out on July 24 and July 9.
All three fires occurred during very hot, yellow-coded weather.
