Tree and shrub planting efforts continue in all districts of Chisinau. On Saturday, Mayor Ion Ceban joined municipal workers in planting trees at educational institutions in Ciocana district.
Ceban declared that together with the team he will plant trees at educational institutions rehabilitated by the municipality. This includes Gloria High School, which specializes in sports, and Pro Succes High School.
According to the mayor, employees from all municipal subdivisions, as well as private partners, participate in the actions. On their own initiative, ordinary citizens also joined the campaign.
As part of the greening campaign in Ciocana, junipers, honeysuckle and linden trees are being planted.
In Râșcani district, young trees are being planted in the Jerusalem Square on Moscova Boulevard, on Matei Basarab Street and on Albișoara Street. In Centru, spruce planting takes place at the Hristo Botev Square. In Botanica, linden trees are being planted on Teilor Street. In Buiucani, plane trees are planted on A. Șciusev Street.
By the end of November, 60 thousand trees and shrubs will be planted across the city. Priority is given to parks and squares that have been recently rehabilitated, on the street alignments and in the courtyards of the 90 educational institutions that were affected by last summer’s storms.
