Patients admitted to the Anenii Noi District Hospital complained that kitchen bugs walk all over their wards. Pictures sent to the editorial staff of IPN show insects walking unrestrictedly on walls, on windowsills and even in the dishes of patients.
Representatives of the Ministry of Health told IPN’s reporter to contact the founder of the hospital, the Anenii Noi District Council. They said that the Council is responsible for cleaning in the hospital together with the hospital’s administration. In an online exchange of messages with IPN’s reporter, Minister Ala Nemerenco said it is not the duty of the minister, but she can become engaged in insect control works. However, in this case it’s no use keeping so many people in posts there.
Contacted by IPN for details, the head of Anenii Noi district Ion Vicol said that he will get in touch with the hospital’s managers to ask for explanations.
Anenii Noi District Hospital vie director Diana Bradu confirmed that the administration is aware of the situation and is making effort to overcome it. It is not for the first time that bugs appeared and they are every time taking measures and are setting special traps and disinfecting the surfaces. Now that it grew warmer, the insects reappeared and they will repeatedly intervene to fight them.
During a week, the problem will be solved. Insect annihilation works cannot be performed simultaneously in all the wards as there are patients there.
Kitchen bugs can pose a real threat to health as they carry bacteria that can cause different infections.
