A travel alert was issued for Iceland in connection with a new volcanic eruption north of Grindavik. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration urges the Moldovans to check the weather warnings before planning their trips and the availability of alternative travel routes, IPN reports.
Prior to the eruption, more than 200 small tremors were recorded early on Sunday morning. The Icelandic coastguard located the eruption south of Hagafjell, according to the Icelandic Meteorological Office.
Air traffic to or from Iceland was not disrupted, according to updates from Keflavik International Airport.
