Minibus owners’ protests related to the Government decision to eliminate re-equipped minibuses from the passenger transportation activity increase on the entire territory of the country, head of the Private Transporters’ Association of (ATP), Ion Mamaliga told Info-Prim Neo. According to Mamaliga, the Patronage Association of Transporters from Cahul organized, on Monday a protest march against the authorities’ intention to exclude by the end of this year, re-equipped minibuses made 1991 and 1992. According to him this Association represents the interests of the transporters from the entire south part of the republic. Trade-union leaders from republic have been invited to the protests in order to plead for respecting transporters’ interests under the tripartite commission Government – Patronages – Trade-unions. The Constitutional Court is being late with the response, to the notification made by the MP Dumitru Braghis on the constitutionality of the Government decision, Mamaliga said. According to him, the Court tergiversate the response because it doesn’t want to compromise itself by declaring that Government’s decision is constitutional. In case the Court doesn’t satisfy their requests, transporters from Chisinau intend to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights. According to Mamaliga, “the situation smolders and it could explode in any moment through uncontrolled actions among transporters”. In October, minibuses’ owners had organized a protest for several hours bringing their cars to a standstill. They took a passive strike but to little avail. Minister of Transports and Road Administration, Miron Gagauz, stated that there is no reason for revising the Government decision, which was approved by all the specialized institutions.
