The General Public Transport and Communications Division on February 12 holds the first tender contest within the EBRD and EIB project to reconstruct a number of streets in downtown Chisinau. Bids can be submitted to the Division’s head office by 12.00, IPN reports.
The Division’s head Igor Gamretski said the tender participation documents were purchased by 23 entrepreneurs. The bids will be examined within a month and there will be selected one entrepreneur. The tender contest refers to the works to repair Stefan cel Mare si Sfant Blvd. and the streets Constantin Negruzzi and Vasile Alecsandri.
The €22 million project is financed by the EBRD and EIB. The municipality will allocate another €8 million. The works to repair six streets will be performed in two stages. The first stage covers the period between the spring of 2014 and the summer of 2015. Three streets of 6.5 km overall will be repaired in the period. The streets 31 august 1989, Tighina and Alexandru cel Bun will be reconstructed at the second stage.
