Transnistria’s exports and imports declined this year

The exports of the Transnistrian region decreased by 17%, while imports by 30%. Foreign trade in 11 months of this year came to US$1.6 billion, a 26% decrease on the corresponding period last year, the region’s administration has said.

According to the Transnistrian press, quoted by IPN, Transnistria’s exports to the Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan Customs Union represented 8%, while to the EU member states – almost 33%. Nearly half of its exports reached the right side of the Nistru River.

On the right side of the Nistru, the foreign trade also declined. Moldova’s exports in the first ten months of this year fell by 16%, while imports by 24% on January-October 2014.
