The incomes collected into the budget of the Transnistrian region in January-March 2016 decreased by over 83 million Transnistrian rubes (over 160 million lei). These totaled approximately 760 million rubles, which is less than in the corresponding period last year, IPN reports.

According to Transnistrian press reports, the collected taxes came to about 650 million rubles, a decline of 76 million rubles compared with the first quarter of 2015. Of the 50 taxpayers of the region, 29 paid taxes of nearly 46 million rubles, a 12% decrease on the first three months of last year.

The Transnistrian region faces economic problems because its exports to Ukraine and Russia diminished considerably. The region now exports products mainly to the right side of the Nistru River and to the European Union.
