More than 4,800 voters living on the left bank of the Nistru River have cast their ballots by 1pm. According to the Central Election Commission, the voter turnout among the Transnistrians is higher than in the first round of the presidential elections. As many as 6,900 Transnistrians voted in the first round of voting in all.
In a press briefing, CEC member Vladimir Sarban said the Transnistrian voters can mark their ballots at 30 polling places established on the right bank of the Nistru River. The number of voters at each of these polling places is higher compared with the first round of voting.
The voter turnout is the lowest in Rezina, where 1,023 Transnistrians voted by 1pm, as opposed to 1,117 voters in the first round.
