UNICEF has allocated financial resources for purchasing equipment needed for transporting and keeping vaccines for medical institutions of the Transnistrian region. The Transnistrian press reported that the equipment bought by UNICEF will allow keeping the vaccines from the moment they are made until they are used, IPN reports.
Owing to the support of UNICEF, there was set up a cold storage room for keeping the vaccines in a centralized way. There were also purchased 70 refrigerators for all the hospitals of the region and thermal containers for transporting the serums.
The decision to buy equipment was taken after a visit paid by representatives of UNICEF to Transnistrian hospitals, where they ascertained improper conditions for keeping vaccines.
