Transnistrian farmers’ salary represents half of average salary in the region

The salary of the Transnistrian farmers is slightly larger than half of the average salary in the region. Farmers now receive the lowest average monthly salary - 131 dollars. The average salary in the economy is 243 dollars. The budget-paid employees receive an average salary of 136 dollars. The highest average monthly salary, of 642 dollars, is paid to the workers of the Rabnitsa-based Metallurgical Plant, Info-Prim Neo’s correspondent in the region reports. The minimum subsistence level in the region is 95.5 dollars. It rises by several percentage points a month. According to official statistics, the population spends 50% of the incomes on food products, 26% - on non-food products and 24% - on public utilities. Under the local legislation, the minimum salary must be twice higher than the minimum subsistence level.
