The units of transport owned by citizens who live on the right bank of the Nistru could be able to enter international traffic. On July 20, the MPs adopted a bill on the registration of these vehicles in the first reading, IPN reports.
Thus, the units of transport, including the trailers, motorcycles and bicycles, could obtain neutral license plates, without Moldova’s symbols, for entering international traffic. These will be issued by the subdivisions of the Public Services Agency of Moldova at the offices opened in Bender and Rybnitsa, without charging import duties and without asking for customs documents.
The vehicles bought before April 24, 2018 that are now registered in the territorial-administrative units of the Transnistrian region and in Bender municipality will be registered based on confirmative documents showing were the person lives and that this owns the vehicle, accompanies by an own responsibility statement concerning the accuracy of the information presented in these documents.
Liberal MP Ion Casian said the bill appeared overnight and is not in the interests of society. It does not contribute to the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict and recognizes the sovereignty of the separatist regime.
Communist MP Vladimir Voronin stated the initiative is welcome as the citizens from Transnistria are citizens of the Republic of Moldova. This way, over 300,000 Moldovans who cannot travel abroad with personal transport could do it.
