Diplomas issued by educational institutions in the Transnistrian region will be recognized, as agreed during the fourth round of 5+2 talks which ended today in Vienna, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“Until now persons holding diplomas from the Transnistrian region were also able to freely use them within the territory of Moldova. However, when people wanted to go abroad a nostrification procedure was needed. It involves the Ministry of Education taking the original and issuing another document to the persons who intend to go abroad. Now we are looking for a way to let the holders keep the originals so that they accurately represent the institution that issued them. We are working to make this possible”, stated Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Eugen Carpov at a video conference held in Vienna jointly with Tiraspol's chief negotiator Nina Shtanski.
Nina Shtanski, for her part, stated that the discussions were productive since they were able to bring about such a result.
The fourth round of 5+2 negotiations was held on September 12 and 13 in Vienna, with the next formal meeting scheduled to take place in late November in Dublin. The 5+2 negotiations are held between Chisinau and Tiraspol as the conflicting sides, with the support of the OSCE, Russia and Ukraine as mediators, and the EU and the US as observers.
