The Transnistrian conflict cannot be settled because of the disastrous situation in Chisinau, believes Oazu Nantoi, MP of the PAS group, the ACUM Bloc. The parliamentarian has specified that it is his personal view and it does not represent in this case the position of the bloc to which he belongs. "Yes, we can point the finger at Russia, at the illegal presence of Russian Federation troops, at those ECHR decisions, including the killing on the bridge over the Dniester of Vadim Pisari, a citizen of the Republic of Moldova, forgotten and betrayed by his own politicians, but we cannot ignore the fact that in Chisinau either there are businessmen in power who turn the Transnistrian conflict into dirty business with revenues hidden in offshore accounts, or we do not have that national consensus on the basis of which to develop a consistent policy for addressing this problem”, said Oazu Nantoi in an interview for Radio Free Europe, quoted by IPN.
According to Oazu Nantoi, it is obvious that the Government of the Republic of Moldova at this moment is totally dedicated to the problem of the fight for turning around the situation with the judiciary and the prosecutor's office, and the courts according to the law. "Without solving this problem, no other problem can be discussed - from the increase of wages to balanced foreign policies, because the state of the Republic of Moldova for the moment exists mostly on paper," said the politician.
According to Oazu Nantoi, the Transnistrian conflict has degenerated into dirty business, involving corrupt politicians. As for the meeting announced between President Igor Dodon and the Transnistrian leader Vadim Krasnoselski, Oazu Nantoi says that "this is the theater of the Moldovan absurd, where, at least at the moment, there is no solution for the so-called Transnistrian conflict, the statehood itself of Moldova is called into question by such "politicians" and such "policies". "
The politician believes that these meetings are meaningless. "How long can it go on? Since February 2002, we have the pentalateral format. How many decades have to pass before we realize that this pentalateral format has been a trap and that we need coordinated, consistent, policies promoted, first of all, by the Chisinau government?”, contended Oazu Nantoi.
